Leonor Antunes

Leonor Antunes

Born in 1972, Leonor Antunes is a Porguguese artist who today lives and works in Berlin. He studied sculpture at the University of Fine Arts in Lisbon before finishing his studies in Berlin. The hand-made element is very important in Antunes’s sculpture. Working with leather, brass and nylon, he builds - with the approach of a craftsman - elegant sculptural forms in which mathematics and proportion play a fundamental role.

Monographic exhibitions of his work have been held in many museums, among them CACP, Bordeaux (2015), Pérez Art Museum, Miami (2014), Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof, Hamburg (2012), Museo Reina Sofia National, Madrid (2011), and Crédac, Ivry (2008).
