   Later years of secondary school

These workshops for older students require the use of a more complex vocabulary. Along with the instructors, students will participate in a group activity that will allow them to critically consider the works they’ve seen during the tour of the collection. It’s time for the class to play!

Politics in art
Artists are often hostile towards political regimes; images and words can become powerful tools of dissent and denunciation. After analyzing a few works in the collection, students will choose to address different contemporary themes. In groups, they will construct their own dazibao to communicate their message.
Tour + Workshop. Length: 2 hours.

 Can I make this, too?
Who, in a contemporary art exhibit, has never declared, “I could make this myself”? The collection tour and the following workshop aim at answering this question by explaining the value of technical skill and the concept of originality, to reach an understanding of what constitutes art.
Tour + Workshop. Length: 2 hours.

 Orient Express
Many artists from the Orient – China and India, but also Japan and Korea – are included in both exhibitions: a consideration of their works presents us with the opportunity to consider the other half of the world, its spirituality, and its vision of the planet and of humanity.
Thematic tour. Length: 1.5 hours.

 News of the world
Works by artists from different geographic origins are exhibited at Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana. Together, they tell a story about man and the world in which he lives, describing a panorama rich in analogies and differences that reflect contemporary reality – between globalization and local tradition.
Thematic tour. Length: 1.5 hours
