Jan Dibbets was born in 1941 in Weert, Netherlands. He is known for his approach involving conceptual art and has at times been associated with Land Art. Dibbets initially trained in painting before concentrating entirely on photography. In the 1970s, he became interested in the concept of horizon and produced panoramas that juxtaposed several shots with each photograph rotated by 30°, thus transforming the perception of distance and creating a sort of deceptive space.
His work was included in the exhibition 'Untitled, 2020' (2020) at Punta della Dogana.
