For the last week of the monographic exhibition "Sigmar Polke" curated by Elena Geuna and Guy Tosatto, Palazzo Grassi announces a special event dedicated to the public.
The Venetian Ensemble Ex Novo, which performed two concerts last September as part of the musical programmation of Palazzo Grassi’s Teatrino, is back with a new program. The concert will be entirely dedicated to Sigmar Polke and his artistic experience. It will take place in one of Palazzo Grassi’s exhibition rooms (Magische Quadrate).
The ensemble, directed by Maestro Claudio Ambrosini, will play a selection of extracts from the dur moll cycle composed by Robert H.P. Platz. The German artist imagined a composition for orchestra and soloist integrated to a specific choreography and video projections, inspired by Polke's Traum des Menealos cycle (1997). The series is composed of individual chamber music tracks but which can be superimposed while played leading to a polyphony, reminding us of the two double sided silkscreen printings by Sigmar Polke, in which the images complete each other, as in Platz music.
This free concert will be given at 17:30.
The Membership card owners can book a seat by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or calling +39 041 24 01 347 .
The event is organized in collaboration with the Centro Tedesco di Studi Veneziani.
