Dismantling of Luc Tuymans' mosaic

Palazzo Grassi

Thursday 21 November

Due to the floods that hit Venice in the past days, the site-specific mosaic by Luc Tuymans, Schwarzheide, conceived for the atrium of Palazzo Grassi, will be dismantled ahead of time, in order to allow the cleaning of the marble floor, as a precautionary measure. The dismantling operations will start on Friday 22 November, in order to allow the performance by Tarek Atoui to take place as planned on Wednesday the 20th from 5.30 pm, in the atrium of the museum. The entrance will be free from 5 pm.

The visitors will have the opportunity to see the artwork Schwarzheide until Thursday 21 November, included. For the whole day, the admission to Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana will be free for the residents of Venice and for students enrolled in the Venetian universities, on the occasion of the festivity of the Madonna della Salute. The second part of the performance THE GROUND Sessions by Tarek Atoui will then take place at the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi from 6.30 pm, with free admission.
