XI Edition of Festival dei Matti - Fables about identity
The Festival dei Matti is back at the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi for new talks and debates on the question of the relationship between madness and normality with the aim to overcome stereotypes and prejudices.
The eleventh edition of the festival, entitled "Fables about identity", puts into question the categories society builds and the will to put people in these categories.
Healthy, ill, normal, mad, citizen, foreigner, regular, illegal, able, handicap are words that form a commonly used vocabulary, considered necessary to define who we are, where we come from, to what we belong, what can be expected from us. Words define our identity, our social profile. But do these works helps us or do they enslave us? What are these "identities"made of? What feeds this discourse, this knowledge and powers?
The Festival dei Matti takes place on Friday 6 November at Combo - ex Convento dei Crociferi and on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November at the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi.
