Grand Tour with Centre Pompidou

Grand Tour is back with new appointments dedicated to the sharing of knowledge, experiences, ideas and goals among museums and institutions. After Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin, and Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, Florence, the Direction des Publics of Centre Pompidou, Paris, is the guest of the third edition and is invited to organise talks and workshops for the Venetian public.

Talk dedicated to cultural mediation in museums
Friday 24 November

The Education Department of Centre Pompidou and Palazzo Grassi - Punta della Dogana meet the representatives of other Education Departments.
Talk reserved to Education Departments of museums.

Workshop dedicated to sand sculptures led by sculptor Dale Murdock.
Saturday 25, Sunday 26 and Monday 27 November
11 am - 6 pm, Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi

What can we do with four thousand kilos of sand at the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi? Together with sculptor and World Champion of Sand Castels Dale Murdock we build a sand city! No age limits and no limits to creativity!
Participation is free until capacity is reached.
Members can access the workshop from 10 am

Drawing the exhibition: alternative tours of Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable
Saturday 25 November, 11 am - 6 pm, Palazzo Grassi. Book
Sunday 26 November, 11 am - 6 pm, Punta della Dogana. Book
Drawing artworks is an invitation to look at them in a different way. Visitors are given a notebook and a pencil to discover Damien Hirst's works.
The tours start every hour, on the hour. Participation is free to visitors holding a valid admission ticket to the museum. Booking is advised.

Talk by Jean-Yves Jouannais
Monday 27 November
6 pm, Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi

The author and art critic presents his book Les barrages de sable. Traité de castellologie littorale (Paris, Grasset, 2014), a study on the ritual of building sandcastles, the origins of this tradition, its etymology and its symbolic meaning.
Free entry until capacity is reached.

Participation to all the activities is free.
Activities are accessible in Italian, English and French.
