Hot Dogs - Dogs in art

From Jeff Koons’ Poodle to Pierre Huyghe’s Canary Islands Hound, from David Hockney’s dachshund to General Idea’s poodle, dogs are ubiquitous in contemporary art, and so were they in paintings by Veronese, Carpaccio, Velázquez and Dürer. What sense can be given to this presence?

Philosopher Mark Alizart, author of Chiens (2017, Presses Universitaires de France), talks with Martin Bethenod, Director of Palazzo Grassi – Punta della Dogana, focusing on a selection of works of art.

Dogs are welcome.
A dedicated area with bowls will be set up in the foyer of the Teatrino.
