Il Gioco, l'Amore e la Follia
"Game, Love and Madness". The 2020 edition of the Venice Carnival evokes the themes that have characterised the world-reknown carnival ever since the times of the Serenissima. The Venetians celebrated carnival for almost half a year with masks, created theatre and music performances of the first order, allowed themselves to behave in ways otherwise inimaginable. But were the Venetians really this mad? The answer is easy : obviously not. Alberto Toso Fei presents a conference-performance dedicated to Carnival - from the codified use of masks, folding fans and moles, to curious anedcotes.
