Kenneth Goldsmith - I Declare a Permanent State of Happiness
Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi
The American poet and artist Kenneth Goldsmith presents at the Teatrino “I Declare a Permanent State of Happiness”, a lecture based on his latest and homonymous book focused on the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus by Wittgenstein. The poet, famous for having applied the dada ready-made and surrealist collage to digital writing and be the founder in 1996 of UbuWeb, an online archive for XX and XXI Century’s avant-garde material, will discuss with the curatorial duo Francesco Urbano Ragazzi, Luigi Perissinotto, Professor of Philosophy of Language, and Roberta Dreon, professor of Aesthetics of the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
The talk will be followed by the screening of the main films of Stan VanDerBeek, an American experimental filmmaker and a leading exponent of the New American Cinema Group, whose films are mostly available for free on UbuWeb.
Free entry until capacity is reached.
Event curated by Francesco Urbano Ragazzi in collaboration with the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage and the Department of Humanities of Ca’ Foscari University, Zuecca Projects and Despar Aspiag Service.
