Lezioni d'artista with Dora Budor
Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi
Designed as a tribute to the legendary "Artists on Artists" conferences of the Dia Art Foundation, Artist Lessons is a program of events in which international artists are invited to select a single artwork, an exhibition, a movie, a memorable character or any cultural production relevant for their educational path around which they would articulate a public presentation.
The calendar will be inaugurated by Dora Budor (1984, Zagreb, lives and works in New York) who works across sculpture and architecture, re-circuiting the relationships between the hybrid and perturbing nature of the objects that surround us. With a tension towards the revisitation of narratives, characteristics of the given context are amplified or reconstructed. Image as a conduit of memory and meaning is produced through the cinematic as it has come to be known not technically, but phenomenologically.
Dora Budor's lesson is made possible with the collaboration of Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia and the Swiss Pavilion of the Venice Biennale, 2021.
