Myself is Another: Romeo Castellucci

On the occasion of the collective exhibition ‘Dancing with Myself’, currently on view at Punta della Dogana, the museum organises a cycle of talks, screenings and performances dedicated to the question of identity and curated by Annalisa Sacchi e Ilenia Caleo.

"Myself is Another" is a cycle of talks dedicated to the performing arts conceived as an opportunity for invention, proliferation, incarnation and camouflage of the identity. The artists, researchers and curators invited to participate underline how contemporary performance can be an artistic practice able to redefine and put on stage the relationship between politics and activism.

Romeo Castellucci, stage director and founder of the theatre company Socìetas - Raffaello Sanzio, is the guest of the first appointment.

At 9 pm, the film of the show Orphée et Eurydice, directed by Romeo Castellucci a La Monnaie in Brussels, is screened at the Teatrino.
The myth of Orpheus and his love for Eurydice, the katabasis to the underworld and the betrayal of the look back are for Romeo Castellucci the occasion to reflect on the condition of who is in a state of coma. The myth and the music by Christoph W. Gluck (in the version by Hector Berlioz) become mirrors to confront human frailty and to acknowledge "art's duty to address the human condition, even in its most extreme manifestation" (Romeo Castellucci).

The second and third appointments of the cycle "Myself is Another":
- Wednesday 5 December: Yasmine Hugonnet in conversation with Piersandra di Matteo
- Thursday 13 December: Silvia Calderoni in conversation with Ilenia Caleo

Talk in English.
