atelier des artistes en exil
Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi
At the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi continues the cycle of appointments dedicated to the theme of migration in collaboration with associations and institutions operating in the field.
After the talk with Refugees Welcome Italia last spring, the second appointment is with atelier des artistes en exil, an association based in Paris, which provides artists in exile, from all origins and disciplines, with workspaces and puts them in contact with professionals. By these means, the artists can practise their disciplines and integrate themselves in their host country.
Judith Depaule, Director of the association, and Shaul Bassi, from the International Center for the Humanities and Social Change of the Ca' Foscari University in Venice, meet three artists, members of the association:
- Kubra Khademi, a feminist artist from Afghanistan, presents a performance
- Mohammad Hijazi, a Syrian videomaker presents three animated short films
- Aida Nosrat, an Iranian singer and violinist, presents a singing and violin performance
Complimentary cocktail is offered by Palazzo Grassi at the end of the talk, provided by Orient Experience.
Talk in English, with simultaneous translation in Italian.
Free entry until capacity is reached.
