Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi
Una specie di tenerezza. Marlene Dumas fra parole e immagini #1
In relation to the themes and suggestions of her exhibition at Palazzo Grassi, the artist Marlene Dumas has conceived a series of screenings for the Venetian public scheduled at the Teatrino every Thursday in November.
Marlene Dumas has selected a series of films that, over the years, have moved, marked or amused her and that in some way influenced the creation of her works. She invites the audience to watch these films without looking for messages or moral meanings and to discover how they explore themes dear to the artist, such as eroticism, innocence, humour, tragedy…
On Thursday 3 November Un Chien Andalou (1929, 16') by Luis Buñuel, Essai cinématographique : Poison (1933-25, 3'30'') by Man Ray and Nosferatu (1922, 95') by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau are scheduled.
