The bookshops at Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana offer a wide choice of publications relating to developments in the visual arts from the Second World War to today: monographs of the key figures in contemporary art, exhibition catalogues, books about art, design, photography and fashion. Alongside art publications, the two shops offer a rich selection of design objects and children’s books. The two bookshops are run by Civita Tre Venezie.
The Dogana Café reopens to the visitors on Thursday 3 June. It will be open from Thursday to Monday from 11 am to 5 pm.
Facing the Grand Canal, the Café at Palazzo Grassi offers a marvellous view of the city and is the ideal place for delicious snacks, lunch with friends, work meetings, tea or aperitif. The kitchen offers a selection of traditional Venetian dishes, with the emphasis on simplicity and high quality.
The Dogana Café is an informal and enjoyable space that combines art and creativity. Situated halfway through the gallery spaces, it is the perfect place to pause for a coffee, browse through a magazine or a catalogue, have a light lunch or a glass of wine. Shared with the bookshop, the space has the atmosphere of a café-bookshop. At Punta della Dogana, traditional Venetian cicchetti will be served for happy hour along with a selection of ham and cheeses served with wines. Sweet and savoury snacks will be available with afternoon tea.
The two cafés are run by Chefyouwant.
